Virginia R. Dunseith, PUFFIN POTTERY Nanaimo, BC Ph: 250-758-3002
Virginia is a retired teacher of Drama and Pottery who now devotes all her time to pottery. She began work with clay while in high school in Chilliwack, B.C., and then after some years of travel, she began to develop her pottery skills at the Waterloo Potters workshop in Kitchener, Ontario. Virginia moved to Nanaimo in 1976, and became an active participant in the Co-op. She is also a long time member of the Tozan Society and Art 10 Gallery. She works primarily in stoneware at cone 6/7 electric firing and also with Raku and Tozan.
Her work is beautifully designed and sculpted in addition to being functional. The glazes are unique and most attractive, which makes the pottery a pleasure to own and use.
It may be seen in Nanaimo at:
Art 10 Gallery in Nanaimo North Town Center, Artisans Studio, the twice-yearly Pottery Co-op sales at Beban Park, and at Beyond Ordinary in Qualicum Beach, B.C.
